Team Member, Integrated Modeling of European Migration
Jakub joined the School of Social Sciences, University of Southampton in 2009. Between 2003 and 2008 he was a Researcher in the Central European Forum for Migration and Population Research (CEFMR) in Warsaw. In the period 2001-2003 he worked in the Demographic Unit of the UN International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in the Hague, analysing population consequences of the 1990s armed conflicts in the Balkans. Jakub holds PhD in Economics (with specialisation in Demography) and MSc in Quantitative Methods and Information Systems, both obtained from the Warsaw School of Economics. Jakub's research interests focus on the applications of quantitative methods in demography, in particular in migration and population forecasting, mortality and demography of conflict and violence.
